Halloween outdoor pillows
Halloween decorating happens outside, on the porch and the front step, where everyone walking past can see it. That means the decorations have to cope with a fortnight of weather. These Halloween pillows do, which is the difference between a porch that still looks good on the thirty-first and one that gave up in the second week of October.
The designs lean decorative rather than gruesome: pumpkins, bats, black cats, ghosts and folk-art silhouettes, in black, burnt orange and bone. All 100% spun polyester, UV-resistant and water-resistant, printed on both sides, in an 18" × 18" square and a 20" × 14" lumbar.
They carry into November
A pumpkin design in orange and cream does not have to come in on the first of November. Choose one without an explicitly spooky motif and it carries straight on through Thanksgiving, which turns a two-week decoration into a two-month one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you order.
When should I put out Halloween pillows?
Mid to late September. Porch decorating starts far earlier than most people expect, and the pillows are weather-resistant so there is no reason to wait.
Can I use these Halloween pillows indoors?
You can, and they will outlast an indoor cushion. Worth knowing before you do: spun polyester made for outdoors has more texture than cotton or linen, so it feels closer to a garden cushion than a sofa cushion. If it is going on a bed or a sofa you spend evenings on, that difference is worth expecting.
Are they too scary for a family porch?
These are decorative rather than frightening. Pumpkins, bats, cats and folk motifs in autumn colours, not horror imagery.
Can I leave them out in October rain?
Yes. Water-resistant fabric with the design printed into the fibre. Let a soaked pillow dry in open air before storing it away for the year.
