Description
A brushed tartan in warm brown, deep forest green and cream, drawn from old wool camp blankets. The scale is set for distance, so the pattern still holds together from across a garden instead of dissolving into texture. It sits easily against wood, wicker and stone, and carries a porch from late summer through to the end of autumn.
Measures 20" × 14", the lumbar shape that sits in the small of your back on a deep chair or a bench. One works on its own; paired with an 18" × 18" square in the same design, it reads as a set rather than a leftover.
Made from 100% spun polyester and printed directly into the fabric on both sides, so the colour is part of the cloth rather than a layer sitting on top of it. UV-resistant, water-resistant and mildew-resistant, with a sewn seam closure and a sturdy fill that holds its shape and never needs ironing. Spot clean only, or dry clean.
Material
100% spun polyester. Specially spun threads that hold their shape and don't wrinkle, so the pillow still looks full at the end of a long summer. No ironing, ever.
UV, water and mildew resistant. The colour is built to stay bright through a full season of direct sun, and a sudden shower won't ruin it. Damp is fine; sitting in a puddle for a week is not.
Printed on both sides. The pattern runs edge to edge across the whole face, front and back, so it looks finished whichever way it gets flipped on the bench.
Sewn seam closure. Closed all the way round with a sewn seam, with the insert included. Nothing to unzip, nothing to lose.
Size & fit
20" × 14". A rectangular lumbar, made to sit lengthways rather than upright.
Where it goes. Against the small of your back on a deep patio chair, along the back of a porch swing, or as the front layer on a bench. Deep outdoor seating tends to push you too far back to be comfortable, and this is the pillow that fixes that.
Pairing. A lumbar in front of the matching 18" square is the combination that reads as deliberate rather than accidental. Same print in both shapes is the easiest way to make a bench look styled.
On a two-seater bench, one lumbar in the middle is enough. On a three-seater, two at the ends works better than three in a row.
Measurements are taken across the centre of the pillow.
Shipping & returns
Free shipping to the USA. No minimum order.
Timing. Orders leave our US facility in about four business days, then it's normal carrier transit from there. Buying for a holiday weekend or a party? Order a week or two ahead — carrier delays are the one part of this we can't control.
Returns. Unused pillows can be returned or exchanged within 30 days. If something arrives faulty, misprinted or damaged, we replace it or refund you — just send us a photo.
Care instructions
Spot clean only. Dry clean if needed. Please don't put it in the washing machine — the seam is sewn closed and the insert is inside, and a machine cycle will leave you with a misshapen pillow.
Day to day. Brush off loose dirt and pollen with a dry cloth. For marks, dab with mild soap and cool water, work from the outside of the stain inwards, then let it air dry completely before it goes back on the chair.
Rain is fine, standing water isn't. The fabric is water and mildew resistant, so a shower won't hurt it. Prop it on its edge afterwards so it dries out rather than sitting damp against a cushion.
Off-season. Store it somewhere dry once the weather turns. Fully dry before it goes into a box, and it will come out the same colour next spring.
